Food for thought: A Year in Review
Hello everyone. We thank you for your love and support for our Church and our family. Please continue to pray for our church, our pastor and his leadership, and our church leaders as we move forward into this year. Last year was very hard for us with the loss of Pastor Steve Salazar Sr. who led our congregation for over 34 years. Pray that we continue to move forward and continue the work that was laid before us. We are so blessed and grateful for the growth in our church, the ability to share our messages and newsletters with our viewers, and the strengthening of our church family and viewers as a congregation and as individuals. We strive to bring encouragement and connection through this newsletter that we will continue to post every 1st of the month, so we hope you will continue to learn and grow in God's word with us.
"A Song of Praise for the LORD’s Faithfulness to His People: A Psalm of Thanksgiving.
Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands!
Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
Know that the LORD, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the LORD is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations"
(Psalm 100:1-5)
What a year. Looking back at the past newsletters, including the first newsletter of 2025, what a journey personally for me and the many changes in our church. Before I continue, today marks one year for our restructuring of our newsletter and how we approach writing these newsletters, so it is only fitting to give a little review of what we have been through:
We, as a church, entered 2024 with mourning the loss of our Pastor of 30 plus years, and having a new leader and pastor take the reins. Our church saw many new faces in person and on our Facebook live services. We had our bible studies started back up on Wednesday nights at the church with a new bible study teacher. We had many people in our small church stepping up to help the church grow and change. We also had volunteers make an outside library for the community to have reading resources available to them. And we continued our burrito sales on Saturday mornings.
Our worship team added a new member to the group, and they continue to improve on and use their skills with instrument. All this, and a new drum set to the mix, has made praise and worship more alive and personal.
It is also nice seeing our leadership having our church committee members meet regularly and continue to lead us in a new direction with our Lord’s guidance. And we have been blessed by the many generous people in our community that donated, not only, to help us get all the little things done in upgrading our old churches doors and getting it back to code, but to even getting our much-needed roof repairs paid for by the love and generosity of individuals.
Our new pastor, Steve Salazar jr., also made the decision to have our church open during the week for the community and to be available to speak with.
It’s truly been amazing seeing all the new leadership and changes that have been made. Yes, it was unexpected but looking back from where we as a church family were a little over one year ago to now, God has truly guided our Pastor and the many who work with him to get to where we are today.
And with that, I know we need to give God all the praise and thanks for not only another year, but for everything He has done for us all.
Thank you, Lord, for helping us get through such a challenging year.
I want to invite you all to look at our YouTube channel, where you can watch past sermons from the many years we have recorded. I also invite you to join us on our website spaces by Wix for updates and links, and where you can go to read past newsletters and keep up to date on service, bible studies, and events. This has been an amazing journey this past year. You literally could use the famous title of a western classic movie “The good, The bad and the ugly” in reverse. But I thank God that we made it here, and that we are all continuing to try and grow in our Lord and savior. We have to remember, our number one goal is to always get closer to our God and creator. Let your mind and your heart open up to His Holy spirit, Let Him lead your ways.
"And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved."
(Acts 2:21)
"The LORD the Shepherd of His People:
A Psalm of David.
The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD
Forever."
(Psalm 23:1-6)
Thank you, Lord, for all your blessings and continue to work in all our lives.

Weekly Devotional: God Finished What He Starts

Verse of the Week:
" Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."
(Romans 5:1-5)
