Volume 2026: Edition 52

Hello everyone. We thank you for your love and support for our Church and our family. Please continue to pray for our church, our pastor and his leadership, and our church leaders, that we may continue to share the word of God. We are so blessed and grateful for the growth in our church, the ability to share our messages and newsletters with our viewers, and the strengthening of our church family and viewers as a congregation and as individuals. We strive to bring encouragement and connection through this newsletter, which we will continue to post every 1st of the month. We hope you will continue to learn and grow in God's word with us.

Food for Thought:

Welcome back, everyone, and welcome to fall. What a great start to fall: leaves falling, finally some good rainstorms, and some cooler temperatures. Thank you, Lord! Our state has been in an awful drought, and we got some much-needed relief.

This Month kicked off with the marriage of Jalen and Megan Salazar; congratulations, you guys.

Sprinkle in the October birthdays, our new screen for worship service, the many donations received, and, as stated, the much needed weather/seasons change and rainfall. And at the end of the month, we will be celebrating the dedication of Dillon and Taylor Lambrecht’s baby boy, Adrian. As their family will dedicate and thank the Lord for this amazing blessing.

And the holiday season is just around the corner, with Thanksgiving and Christmas; time flies.

As you already know, our newsletter is getting pushed back into the middle of the month. So, a reminder: if you have any suggestions, ideas, prayer requests, testimonials, or just want to share a story, feel free to drop off your requests through email, phone, mail, or in person, or even on Facebook, and we will be glad to share.

With that, this month's newsletter comes from the request of one of our own members, Mrs. Brandy Salazar. Thank you for the suggestions and ideas. We hope everyone will take a moment to read this month's food for thought topic; a great moment of reflection for us all.

Enjoy the read:

We encounter people in need almost daily.

At a busy corner or intersection, or at a traffic light, we may see a homeless person in need; an individual, or sometimes a family, asking for help in front of a store. Or maybe it’s a co-worker venting to you at work about their daily struggles, or a friend on social media speaking about the hardships they are going through at the moment. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s the quiet person keeping to themselves that everyone is avoiding because they have their own worries or problems…whatever the situation, we all have encountered a moment; a person, a situation like this.

And on so many times and occasions, personally, I’ve been that person who said, “I have enough on my own plate!” or “What about me?” Or “why can’t they just figure it out?” Or “ let someone else deal with it”

Never thinking, what if I’m the one person at that moment in time in their life that is the help? That I was meant for that moment. That this is my opportunity to show some compassion, reach out with a gesture of friendship, be that person to just see if I can lend a helping hand, or just be that person to be there to just sit and listen.

I know we can all rush to judgment. Rush to blame others and point out each other's faults. Judging others without even knowing the person, the situation that person may be in, the hard decisions one has to make in tough circumstances; we just want to pretend we can make the better choices, that if it were you, you wouldn’t be like that.

We live in a society where people have no compassion for the poor, no compassion for the brokenhearted, ignore the lonely person, stick to your bubble of friends or inner circle and don’t branch out, and the biggest and saddest one of them all: treat people like they don’t matter because you don’t know them.

Our Lord didn’t make us to stay in our little bubbles. Didn’t make us comfortable in just our own surroundings, and sure didn’t make us love and care for only people we know. He commanded us:

John 13:34-35 NKJV - A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another

We live in a time where fewer and fewer people communicate or interact face to face.

In the time we live in now, so many people want to send a text or post a comment on social media before they have to actually speak to one another. We communicate through social media networks and even react and judge people through those outlets. And sadly, in most cases, instead of using those platforms for good, we as people, the majority of the time, use them to degrade and destroy one another…

Our society has gotten to a point where we judge before knowing all the facts or even knowing the person.

Now, this is where the question comes in again: how can we judge people for their choices when we know nothing about their options?

The answer is you can’t.

How many times in your own life have you wished people understood the circumstances you were personally going through?

Why was the decision made to make that tough choice that was a lose-lose situation?

Why did you make that tough choice in breaking ties with friendships or relationships?

The choices we make on a daily basis can not only make or break the day for you, but the people involved, even when the other person or persons are not aware.

We have to fight our pride. We have to fight our selfishness. We have to fight the world. We have to truly let God’s light shine in us. I know that is the hardest thing to do; it’s easy to push aside our Lord's instructions to love one another because we live in an evil world; but when did our God say it was gonna be easy?

Matthew 7:13-23 NKJV -  “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. You Will Know Them by Their Fruits

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.  You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?  Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.  A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them. I Never Knew You

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’  And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

I pray that we all stop and think next time we want to rush to place judgment on others and remember, we are all in this together. The goal is for all of us to accept our Creator's love, His grace, His Mercy, and His promises.

We want everyone to make it to heaven. We can’t earn our way in by being good, by being a nice person, by being a giving person, by doing as many good deeds as we can stack…there is only one way:

John 14:1-6 NKJV - The Way, the Truth, and the Life

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.  And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Put your trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Let Him change your ways. He will give you a new heart. And He will show you the way.

Thank you as always for your support. Make sure to share and post our monthly newsletter to family and friends (who are the same in our Lord’s eyes)

Reach out to people in your community or a stranger you cross paths with. Don’t let an opportunity go to waste; let our Lord's light shine in each one of our daily lives.

Have a wonderful and blessed October, and we pray we can all share this time together again in November for our next newsletter. Until then, have a wonderful and blessed fall season. Happy fall, everyone.
